Project Bantu Philippines is a non-profit cultural organization that utilizes the Afro-Brazilian art form of Capoeira Angola to achieve positive social outcomes in vulnerable young people. The Project accomplishes this by taking activities rooted in the musical and physical traditions of Capoeira Angola and translating them into productive learning experiences designed to help at-risk youth build behaviors and skills that they will need in order to be successful at facing the challenges of daily life.

Project Bantu Philippines, through partnerships with NGOs, government and other organizations focused on youth development and child protection, aims to reach vulnerable young people in different parts of the country. The Project further aims to establish centers where youth will be able to participate in skills development activities and classes which will not only open their minds to new ideas about the future, but will arm them with even more of the basic skills that they will need to face the challenges of today. It is also one of the Project’s long term goals to develop Youth Assistants who will, in the future, be prepared to deliver Project Bantu classes to even more vulnerable youth.
